The Honorable Danielle Adams, Soil and Water Conservation

District Board of Supervisors in Durham, North Carolina. In 2012 she received the Outstanding District Supervisor of the Year award from the North Carolina Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and was honored by Spectacular Magazine as the “Woman of the Year: Emerging Leader” award recipient. In 2014 Danielle was a fellow for the Young Climate Leaders Network and in 2016 received the Gantt-Watt Emerging Leader and the YEO Network Leadership awards.

Danielle has previously served as a fellow in the Institute for Civic Engagement and Social Change at North Carolina Central University, as the Alternative Transportation Project Manager in the Office of Sustainability at Appalachian State University, on the Board of Directors for the Upper Neuse River Association and has worked with the International Affairs Council – Middle East Partnership Initiative of the U.S. Department of State. Currently she serves as an ambassador to Oxfam America’s Sisters on the Planet program, as a certified trainer with Vote Run Lead, and has previously worked for the Institute for Southern Studies. She received her BA in political science with a minor in music from North Carolina Central University and studied Environmental Politics and Policy Analysis at Appalachian State University. Currently she works as the Southern Regional Coordinator for Local Progress out of the Center for Popular Democracy.
