EOPA is launching an Electric Vehicles Tour from May 29 to June 26, 2024, to empower lawmakers to build awareness and support for electric vehicles and clean energy solutions like offshore wind to power America’s future. Led by lawmakers who are veterans and frontline elected officials, the Tour will leverage elected official’s credibility, influence, and media access to educate lawmakers on policy solutions and garner news coverage.
The Tour will highlight the importance of electric vehicles in keeping our nation safe, offshore wind power’s pivotal potential for powering the East Coast’s transition to clean transportation, and the historic climate investments being implemented through the Inflation Reduction Act.
The Tour is hosted by Elected Officials to Protect America (EOPA), a nonpartisan network of current and former elected officials who care deeply about protecting our lands, waters, and democracy while ensuring environmental justice and solving the climate emergency. We are led by lawmakers who are military veterans and elected officials representing frontline communities.
Tour agenda:
At each stop, the EOPA will host a dinner with lawmakers, staff, and partners to educate and share policies and messaging on electric vehicles and offshore wind with participants, hold a press conference the next day, followed by an electric vehicle showcase for participants to drive the electric vehicles to gain firsthand experience with EVs.
