The Public Leadership and Wellbeing Training is based on the Certificate in Public Leadership and Masters Degree we offer at the University of San Francisco (USF) in Partnership with Elected Officials to Protect America (EOPA), and the Contentment Foundation. EOPA and the Contentment Foundation are 501(c3) nonprofits.

Overview: The training is open to lawmakers, staff, mental health workers, and the public
The training features three modules:
• Wellbeing and Mental Health
• Body Language, Public Speaking, and Negotiation for Leaders
• Emotional Intelligence and Public Leadership
Instructors:
1:30 to 2:00 — Introduction by Vice Speaker, coffee, tea, snacks, and networking
2:00 to 3:00 — Emotional Intelligence and Public Leadership: Harvard Business Review compiled over 300 studies and found EI is the single most important factor in career and personal success. The course will increase participants’ ability to empathize with others, to listen accurately, to communicate authentically, and to create a legislative office environment that maximizes team performance and creativity.
3:00 to 4:00 — Body Language, Public Speaking, and Negotiation for Leaders: Body language is a vital part of negotiating and persuading that is often overlooked, but can account for over 55% of the message we are conveying. Participants will learn the latest non-verbal communication tactics to enhance their communication and leadership skills
4:00 to 5:00 — Wellbeing and Mental Health: An introduction to the basics of wellbeing and mental health includes Mindfulness, Community, Self-Curiosity, and Contentment. The immersive training experience includes a diverse array of engaging content for different personalities and needs, and it offers practices that can easily and quickly become an important part of one’s life.
5:00 — Dinner

Elected Officials to Protect America (EOPA): EOPA is a nonpartisan network of elected officials led by veterans and frontline lawmakers dedicated to helping solve the climate crisis, ensure environmental justice, and protect our lands, waters, and democracy.
Contentment Foundation: Provides wellbeing curricula globally, focusing on physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing.
University of San Francisco: Offers a Master of Arts in Public Leadership, preparing students for various roles in public service.
